Racing action at the Oswego Speedway in 2007 will showcase some of the best drivers in a variety
of divisions throughout the season. The Novelis Supermodifieds are back for their forty sixth season and the PathFinder Bank
SBS Racing series, formerly the Limited Supermodifieds, will be back for their sixteen season. Other visiting tours of cars
will be the Race of Champions Pavement Modified Series, the Midwest Supermodified Association, The PRA Big Car Series, The
NEMA Midgets, the ISMA Supermodifieds and the Big Block and Small Block D.I.R.T. Modifieds.
Pre-season events in the
month of April include the Pizza Villa Spring Spruce Up Day on April 14th and the March of Dimes "Walk America" on April 28th.
The month of May ushers in the 57th consecutive season of racing at the Oswego Speedway. For the second year in a row the
season will start on a Sunday afternoon with the Coca Cola Kick-Off on May 13th. The month of May will also include the Jakes
Automotive and PowerAde "Two for One" Family Admission Night on May 19th and the Community Bank and Burritt Motors Memorial
Night on May 26th. May will include three free grandstand admission events including Open Practice sessions on May 5th and
12th and a Friday night Open Practice and IMCA Modified race on May 25th.
June starts off with the Lighthouse Lanes
/ Warner Physical Therapy and Oswego Sub Shop Minor Hockey League Night. All kids wearing their jerseys will get in for free
on June 2nd. Outdoor Power and Red Carpet Inn sponsor the action on June 9th. This is one of the most anticipated events of
the off-season as the "Days Inn MSA-Oswego Wings Challenge Series" runs their first of three races in 2007. This series will
showcase the top Midwest Supermodified Association Drivers and the best Novelis Supermodified drivers at the Oswego Speedway
running with wings. Next up on June 16th is Dunkin Donuts and RJ Caruso Tax & Accounting Night featuring the 2007 Demolition
Derby and the first of two Constellation and Entergy Kids Autograph Sessions. June 23rd is held open as a "Spring Schedule
Rain Date". Friday and Saturday June 29th and 30th make up the big Independence Weekend sponsored by Alliance Bank and Cingular
Wireless, the new AT&T. Friday will feature the largest ever mid-summer car cruise at the Oswego Speedway. Syracuse Nationals
"Best in Class" trophies and prizes will be presented. The WSEN 92.1 FM "Party in the Pits" will feature the popular band
"Street Corner" performing on the Galloway Century 21 / Burkes Stage and "Spectator Drags" will be back for the event. Saturday
night the excitement continues with a regular slate of racing plus an announcer "Match Race" as Roy Sova and Joe Marotta will
jump into SBS cars and duke it out on the race track.
July 7th finds the USAC Ford Focus Midgets joining the schedule
on Oswego Bagelry & Sandwich Shop and Ferris Industries Night. The second annual "Old Timers Reunion" starts off the day
on July 14th on Women at Work and Scottish Inns and Suites Night. On the track it is the second installment of the "Days Inn
MSA-Oswego Wings Challenge Series". The month ends on July 21st with the State Farm of Oswego and Garafolo's night with the
RoC Modified Parts Plus Series making their third appearance of the season.
On August 4th, it is the Fleet Pride "Mr.
Novelis" and "Mr. PathFinder Bank" Night. The signature racing event of the summer includes the 21st "$10,000 to Win" Mr.
Novelis Supermodified 50 and the 16th "$1,500 to Win" Mr. PathFinder Bank SBS 35. This night will include another Constellation
and Entergy Kids Autograph Session. Friday night August 10th is another new event with a lot of off-season buzz. The PRA Big
Car Series makes their first ever visit to the Oswego Speedway on Hoosier Tire and Speedway Press night. Several of these
cars are owned by NASCAR Drivers who will be at Watkins Glen the same weekend, it will be anybody's guess who might be piloting
some of those cars at the Oswego Speedway on that night. The regular Oswego divisions will also be in competition on PRA night.
The point season comes to an end on August 18th with Oswego Quality Carpet and Burkes Home Centers "Track Championship" Night.
The day starts off with the Oswego Elks Lodge Kids On-Track Cosmic Bowling party at Lighthouse Lanes and ends with crowning
Track Champions for the Novelis Supermodifieds and the PathFinder Bank SBS Series. The final race for the month of August
is the Wednesday night August 22nd Gater News and INKSPOT Modified D.I.R.T Big Block / Small Block race with the NORA SBS
cars also on the schedule.
Budweiser Classic Week kicks off on Tuesday August 28th with the Outdoor Power and Garafolo's
Lawnmower Classic. On Wednesday night it is the "Racing Rolling Classic Bowling" at Lighthouse Lanes. Thursday is the first
of four full days of activities at the Speedway. Open Practice and an IMCA Modified race will start the day off at noon with
free grandstand admission. Next up, WSEN 92.1 FM and Garafolo's bring you the "Party in the Pits" with Millennium Music spinning
oldies music on the Galloway Century 21 & Burkes Stage. The Classic Super Cruise will attract all kinds of classic cars,
trucks and cycles in the infield and on the track. Friday of Classic Week features the Parts Plus RoC Modified 125 and the
Davis Bros. "Bud Pole Night" qualifying for the Novelis Supermodified Classic. Saturday is Bud Light ISMA Super National day
with the NEMA Midgets in action along with the ISMA Supers and Time Trials for the SBS Racing Series Classic. The week is
capped off with the "Budweiser 300" Classic Sunday. The PathFinder Bank SBS Racing Series will run their 100 lap Classic and
the Novelis Supermodifieds will run the 200 lap International Classic.
Saturday September 15th, the final leg of the
"Days Inn MSA-Oswego Wings Challenge Series" will be held at Sandusky Speedway on their "Track Championship" Night. Racing
at Oswego concludes the following week with the 57th Modified Race of Champions event schedule from Thursday the 20th through
Saturday the 22nd.
On three different race nights in 2007, the Oswego Speedway will be teaming up with Novelis and
the Oswego County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity to help race fans turn 100,000 recyclable cans into a new Habitat House
in the Oswego community in 2008. Novelis has a goal of 1,000,000 cans and Oswego Speedway is committed to hitting 10% of that
goal. The dates listed on the schedule for can collections are May 26th, June 16th and August 4th. As each of these dates
approaches, a press release will be issued regarding the number of recyclable cans that fans can turn in to get selected 2007
Classic Week tickets. When the goal of 100,000 cans has been met in August, Novelis will celebrate the accomplishment by awarding
125 Classic Sunday tickets to race fans. Stay tuned for all of the details and start saving recyclable cans.
In addition
to the free grandstand admission on May 5th, May 12th, May 25th and August 30th, The Oswego Speedway will offer free admission
for all Military Personnel with I.D. through August 18th. The Oswego Speedway will also have a new pricing structure for the
grandstand in 2007. All fans "16 and under" will get in for $2 through August 18th. All fans "17 and over" will be charged
the adult admission price which is $14 on regular nights and higher for special events. This new pricing policy will allow
a typical family of four to attend a regular night of racing at the Oswego Speedway for just $32. The Oswego Speedway is committed
to bringing a great product onto the racing surface each week in 2007 and to allow families to enjoy the racing action at
